I love engagement sessions because they really help me get to know you as a couple. Not only that, it helps you get to know me and how I shoot and what to expect on your wedding day. Many couples have told me how glad they were to have done an engagement session, because it made them feel so comfortable on their actual wedding day. Not all couples are models and many have never been photographed. So it is natural for them to be nervous in front of the camera. I help alleviate that nervousness and allow their true personalities and relationship to shine in a natural and relaxed way. No you don't have to pose and you don't have to be so formal. You can be yourselves and I will subtely guide you to create beautiful images of you as a couple.

Prior to your session, we will plan your session and determine a concept and location for yor shoot. Many couples choose a location that is meaningful to them - where they first met, where they got engaged, a special vacation spot. Choosing somewhere with meaning is the key to relaxed portraits & images that capture YOU. I will also guide you with wardrobe selection & styling that suit the location & your personalities.

I also offer destination engagement sessions. Many couples have a special spot away from home that is meaningful to them. I love these sessions because the clients find their images to be more emotional. The image to the left is from a destination engagement session. The rock beach in Door County, Wisconsin was the beach where Kim went as a child every summer on her family vacations. Each summer, everyone collected rocks and painted them. For their engagement session, Kim & Brian painted rocks for their save-the-date and took their photos here.
